TZU-YANG Alex HUANG

TZU-YANG Alex HUANG is an artist and fashion designer who specialized in designing wearable knitted sculptures and textiles. Originating from Taiwan, he has lived in Shanghai for eight years and now resides in London. In 2021, he graduated in BA Fashion at Central Saint Martins and is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree at Royal College of Art. 

He seeks to bestow regenerative values to various eco-materials through 3D knitting. His recent work explores the spontaneous dynamic relationship between the tension of materials, the body, and space. He is sponsored by Well-May and SHI-KWAN and has been featured in British Vogue, Dazed, PAP Magazine, Milk, etc.

With a deep-rooted passion for pushing boundaries, he creates captivating handmade artworks that seamlessly integrate digital aesthetics. Inspired by his personal experiences, the wonders of nature, and the intricate realm of mental health, his creations embody the essence of Space, Connection, and Tension.


Central to his artistic practice is the utilization of natural materials such as Raffia and bamboo. By employing techniques like knitting, weaving, and traditional craftsmanship, he masterfully preserves the innate qualities of these materials. Through his work, TZU-YANG aims to craft sensorial spaces that transcend the digital realm, inviting viewers to embark on a journey into the depths of their own consciousness.
