Jacquelyn Huang

Jacquelyn Huang is a fashion designer and stylist currently based in London.

She has always believed that there are deviations and balances in everything, and she hopes to find a balance between design and her own life. Does allowing and accepting the unexpected and the accidental, and exploring it, lead to the same results as following the rules? Perfection and imperfection are always subjective opinions, and we don't live in a dull world, do we?

"Following my own steps, knowing what I'm doing and having a short term goal, that's me”(2018-2020)

I can be defined by any word, I could be a best friend, a student, a free spirit who has never stopped exploring the world. Like the Serenity Prayer said, "Change what can be changed and accept what cannot be changed"

My concept was "Trembling Hand Perfect Equilibrium". In many cases, variables and chance occurrences are beyond our grasp, so will this variable keep things going or will it change for the better? How do perfection and imperfection coexist to lead me to thinking more deeply about the theory of deterministic action.

Bees will instinctively change the shape of the hive casing to get a larger hive structure. They do not always build a hexagonal shape, but there will be pentagons and heptagons and other patterned structures within it. What we see is a whole hive that they have designed by combining different patterns. So it is also a production process with a variable nature.

What excites me most is this approach to thinking about silhouettes that are no longer determined by the structure of the human body. Because although the result is something informed by design, the meaning of the design itself follows a balance and serves humanity. By adding the idea of randomness, the original design sequence is reversed. A graphic preceding the silhouette design, while also accepting the occasional design intersection midway through the process.

Overall, allowance for deviations is a way of acknowledging that perfection may not always be achievable, and that some degree of variability or flexibility may be necessary to achieve a desired outcome while maintaining an acceptable level of quality.
