Xinyuan Li

As a personal designer, Xinyuan's main focus is on balancing design with human behaviour. She excels at finding inspiration from daily life and incorporating it into her designs. She hopes that she can draw more attention to the issues she cares about through design discussions, even if it's just a small step towards problem-solving. Additionally, Xinyuan is a learner of handicrafts and has a strong interest in different materials and techniques, which not only captivate her attention but also bring more energy to her creations.

Xinyuan tends to explore the various possibilities of traditional culture or social issues, which provides her with a constant source of design motivation. Her design works serve as her way of conveying declarations to the world.

A process of my model making.

I believe that in contemporary society, the form of opposition between men and women has become increasingly common, leading to a series of reflections. I am acutely aware of the conflict in gender consciousness within mainstream societal norms and seek to address this issue through education. My dedication lies in creating suitable and engaging educational toys for kindergarten children, helping them establish gender awareness at an early stage and broaden their perspectives to understand gender.

In my manifesto for product design, my works strive to adhere to the following principles:

Equality and Inclusivity: I firmly believe that gender equality and inclusivity are the cornerstones of building a harmonious society. My product design endeavours to eliminate gender biases and stereotypes, encouraging boys and girls to participate together and enjoy the pleasures of learning and play.

Education and Inspiration: I believe in the transformative power of education. Through thoughtfully designed educational toys, I will assist children in acquiring knowledge and inspire their understanding and respect for gender. I will encourage them to pursue their interests beyond traditional gender roles.

Innovation and Diversity: I will continuously pursue innovation, designing unique and engaging products. I will introduce diverse roles, narratives, and gameplay, allowing children to experience different expressions and identities, and promoting their cognitive development and emotional awareness.

Collaboration and Engagement: I will actively collaborate with education experts, psychologists, and advocates of sexual education to jointly develop and improve my products. I will listen to the voices of children and their parents, ensuring that my designs meet their needs and expectations.

My goal is to inject new vitality and possibilities into China's sexual education system through innovative product design. I believe that through my efforts, more children will be able to establish healthy gender awareness at an early stage and pursue freedom, understanding, and respect for the diversity of the world.
