Fashion (MA)

Yuhan Liu

Yuhan Liu is a designer who favours succubus chic and reorganises her fashion system with her favourite elements and lifestyle.

Her creations are 3d printed and assembled to achieve fun and practicality in fashion. She works with assembling methods and pattern design, using the vehicle of garments to present assemblable designs like toys. She uses printing technology and metal assembly to create futuristic and surreal pioneering looks.

Her design philosophy revolves around the protective psychology of fashion security that clothing visuals can give people, thinking about the spiritual link between fashion and the individual and focusing on the fashion preferences of niche groups. She uses digital technology to create a post-human era where industry and the environment interact to create a human dressing, realising the vision of fashion and environment fusion development and integrating the industrial future into a dark style.

ME

People like to judge people by their appearance.

But the truth is that many people who look unfriendly are actually quite gentle, and there are many things that look harmless that can cause harm. Sometimes beauty and danger go hand in hand. Like the enchanting and poisonous flowers in nature, the reason they are poisonous is actually a protective mechanism to prevent them from being picked up by animals.

For a long time, women have been conditioned and disciplined to be what women still are, to be elegant, lovely, well behaved, clean and tidy, but after following this no one can guarantee women's safety, instead they are being led to go against the grain and learn to compromise.

The succubus was originally a supernatural individual in medieval European and Middle Eastern folklore, but the succubus chic has been incorporated into fashion to be more ambitious, lustful and rebellious. I support people who like this misanthropic and mysterious style, don't care about being perfect, don't cater to society's preferences and be your most powerful self.

That way maybe you will no longer be a target for the bad guys, but an object of their fear.

If people are always more willing to believe what appearances show, then use it, even if it's just the cajoling effect of the way you dress, if it protects you, that's part of what fashion can contribute. I want to criticise superficiality in this way, but it is also my defence mechanism against harm, my sense of self-protection.
