Digital Direction (MA)

Yuhan Chen

Yuhan Chen is a 3D visual artist whose creations use virtual reality, 3D digital sculpture, and 3D animation to explore the limits of seamless connection with future media and discuss post-human and feminist issues.

Chen combines digital identity with feminism. The reinvention of the female body is particularly prominent in the work, which incorporates performance, interactive experiences, digital wear, and sound design.

After Sunset is an immersive VR short film exploring women in the night space, that reshaped body crosses the boundary of the 'sunset,' moving from being the prey of the street to being the hunter, no longer living under the anxiety of being 'hunted' and no longer being stigmatized as a 'disobedient or restless woman.'
