Hand Accessories,Thermoplastic version,Emotional Connections

During the epidemic, I lost someone who had cared for me since I was a child. The reality of never being able to see him again and gradually forgetting him caused me anxiety and fear.

In my life, my sensitivity to touch has led me to feel and remember things in large part from tactile impressions. My memories of my grandfather, who left this world during the epidemic, are intertwined with the sensations of contact with him.

Drawing on Chinese and Western mythological and philosophical definitions and depictions of the paradox of time and space, I explore the 'transcendental dialogue' with my grandfather through the emotional connections embedded in traditional rituals.

I recall moments of closeness to my grandfather through an immersive lens. Through the shaping of thermoplastic plates, I build a space of remembrance, using some traditional rituals in texture and touch to build an emotional bridge with my grandfather.

While building this space, it is also a process for my emotions to move from venting to settling. I have recorded the emotional changes at each point of this process. These connections are the essence of my connection with my grandfather, and I look forward to rebuilding with him across time and space, and hope that everyone who has left someone important can draw strength and ease the tactile resonance of emotions from it.
