Runnan Fang

Runnan Fang is an explorer in the field of interdisciplinary and multimedia art, and is currently pursuing an MA in Information Experience Design at the Royal College of Art. She is passionate about exploring different technical and material means and her practice involves visual, installation and experimental communication.

In Fang Runnan's art practice, she focuses on the mutual perception between humans and nature to promote symbiosis and sustainability. She tries to break some inherent perceptions and construct unique experiences and narrative perspectives in a humorous way to stimulate discussion on a certain topic, leading people to look at issues from different perspectives and promoting reflection and communication.

A portrait

“We have built a civilization based on a world that doesn’t exist anymore,” says Katharine Hayhoe, a climate scientist at Texas Tech University and chief scientist at The Nature Conservancy.

The more severe climate change becomes, the more connected we will become to nature, and one day a group of people will be the first to become "superbody".

When the environment becomes sensitive, so do humans

In 2050, 50% of the Earth's population will suffer from allergies. Because of their allergies, they also gain the ability to feel better about nature, and the first wave of "superpowers" is born. ......

The project seeks to discuss the possibility of transforming human roles and society in 2050 under the influence of climate change. Through a script and an interactive film, the story of future allergic superpowered people is presented from different perspectives, trying to make the audience think and look at climate change from different perspectives, and provoke discussions on climate change and human behavior.
