About
Junya is a multidisciplinary artist and multimedia designer. Her work varies from graphic design, moving image, illustration and silversmithing. After studying metalsmith at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, she moved to the Royal College of Art to explore the dimension beyond materials. In mild days, she would have a lie down in the park for a while.
Statement
My practice focuses on psychological habitats where narratives to be contained, unearthed and situated. Everything is in constant flux in an instant, making it struggle to capture an exact future. From that, I have tried to build some subtle comfort zones that provide a momentary sense of belonging for digital nomads.

HABITAT aspires to portray a post-humanist virtual world. All the traits are no longer described by gene segments; people have the right to shed their physical appearance. How do we perceive parametric life forms? Is data just another way of writing the laws of nature?
