Jiusi Li is an animator and illustrator who graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. She received her undergraduate degree in mural painting there.
She specialises in rock-colour painting, enjoys expressing emotional relationships in her work and has a passion for erotic illustration. But she is now obsessed with pixel art.
She used to dream of being a cop but somehow studied art.
Jiusi enjoys travelling, listening to life stories from strangers and being inspired by conversations with others.
Jiusi's practice comes from daydreaming and the joy of discovering in the details. She wants to express that life is confusing, nonsensical and therefore fun.
She has a strong love for old and low quality things, such as old magazine covers, film photography and animation from the last century. Therefore she kept experimenting with pixel art during the year.
