Statement
There are things that are blurry. There are things that are hard to see. There are things that we try hard not to see on purpose. Hongmin An challenges to talk about purposely-overlooked subjects through her practice such as the matter of right and wrong, being passive or active and hierarchy in art. Based on her experiences of studying different subject matters in different cities, she explores the concepts and ideas around educational system and how they are built or manufactured, as well as the consequences. By having self-involved audience in her work, she aims to throw questions related to her practice to make people to think of things that they usually overlook once again.
