Henry Baker (b. 1994, New York) is an American artist working with painting, writing, and music. He is currently working on a new visual series titled, 'Sun Paintings', in conjunction with a twelve song, concept album titled, 'From The Beginning'. While the subject matter and concepts of each medium inform one another, they exist as separate entities not intended to be experienced at the same time.

The Sun Paintings represent the constant struggle to remain optimistic. Through the best and worst of times. The works draw upon the symbol and familiar iconography of the sun as a motif of presence and illumination, while the album aims to distill the simplicities of life as they are mediated through writing and sonic exploration.
My intention is for these paintings to be a grounding source for others. Paintings that are lived with, rather than consumed. Something that was already there, waiting to be unveiled.
