Callum Harvey’s work explores spatial environments which sit within places of transition where perceptions of space are altered, and natural forms are flattened; here creating a oneness which allows the work to lie between representation and something more designed, such as wallpaper or ornamentation.

His paintings draw on interior motifs as well as architectural details and pattern, to investigate how these inform the relationships we have to our environments and offer new ways of seeing.

Rendered in soft, muted colour palettes, the paintings are built up from multiple layers of thin, transparent paint that play with colour theory and surface to give them a backlit glow and subtle presence.
