Textiles (MA)

Yingxuan Liang

Yingxuan Liang is a textile artist dedicated to the study of displaying textiles through different sensory effects and exploring the possibilities of textiles through living aesthetics.

She invites the viewers actively to engage with the artwork and use their imagination and means of perception to fill in the gaps. She believes that blurred art can challenge traditional notions of representation and encourage a more subjective experience.

The project is inspired by the blurred, Multiple shadows world of myopic eyes, shifting from a blurred visual effect to a blurred reflection on life.

Blurred art effects can convey emotion, create atmosphere, explore abstraction and direct the viewer's eye. They allow for experimentation with visual perception, inviting the viewer to interpret and engage with the artwork in a subjective and immersive way.

The blur of life can also prompt individuals to pause and reflect on their experiences, seeking deeper meaning and purpose within the chaotic and rapid flow of existence. It encourages us to find moments of stillness, introspection, and mindfulness to reconnect with ourselves and make sense of our place in the world.

The insecurities and uncertainties of life encourages us to embrace the unknown and accept that there are aspects of life that may never be fully understood or explained. It invites us to embrace the beauty and wonder that arises from the mysteries and uncertainties of our existence.

Overall, the concept of "the blur of life" captures the transient, fast-paced, and often ambiguous nature of human existence. It serves as a reminder to slow down, embrace the present moment, and seek clarity and meaning amidst the constant movement and uncertainties of life.

Multi-shaded visuals

Life is not black and white, it is not disconnected, it is not "right" most of the time, things are not always crystal clear (they are often blurred) - most of the time we occupy an empty question somewhere in the middle, passing by, making up as we go.

Multi-shaded touch

Out-of-focus and ambiguous techniques allow for personal interpretation and subjective experience to be incorporated into their work. This provides them with the freedom to experiment, explore and communicate their unique perspectives, allowing the viewer to engage with the artwork on a personal level.
