Xiaotong Jiang

Xiaotong Jiang regards photography as a way of exploring and communicating with the world which allows the viewer to wander through the world she has created and feel their own joy and loneliness. Her works focus on the connection between people and themselves, with others and with society, combining special output methods and various art forms with traditional photography. Rather than presenting something, she wants to create something new,so that the concept of the work itself can go beyond the content of the image.

There are 4 different sizes pools in this image.Leaves and wilted flower petals floating on the surface of the water

Today, human beings have opened ‘Pandora's Box’ and acquired a new power to exploit nature, which is revealed in the nature of technology and which is beyond the control of the human being. This power is capable of causing us to forget our origins, to forget our original lives and to be left with purely technical relationships.

We assume, as a matter of course, that the relationship between humans and nature is that between the technological producer and the technological object. We wander away from nature and take on the role of manipulator. But we always forget that we are also part of nature......

Humans are but one of the creatures that live in nature. It can exist apart from humans, but if humans can survive apart from the nature......We are just an insignificant speck of dust in front of nature.
