Qi Xiao is a digital artist based in London and Chengdu, currently studying for an MA in Information Experience Design at the Royal College of Art.
Her practice is passionate about film, installation art, projection art, spatial interaction, sound, poetry, and cross-media narratives. During her MA studies, she became interested in the aesthetics of nature and natural healing, so she began to focus on exploring the healing power that nature brings to people; and exploring the relationship between humans and nature, thus rethinking the place of people in nature and in all things in the universe. She experiments with a variety of sophisticated new media technologies to bring a broader immersive experience to the audience, providing a space for an expanded sensory experience through sound, poetry, video, colour, and light. Xiao invites the viewer to follow her on a romantic poetic journey into the collision of man, nature, the universe, and digital art.
Her work is cross-media, seeking a better expression and experience of narrative in both the virtual and the real, exploring the possibilities of combining 3D and digital art. Xiao remains committed to the creation of a narrative environment that seeks a wider resonance and connection with the audience.
