Statement
Home is on stills.
He creates, she is fierce.
Protected by the urban island.
Suddenly all is gone.
I walk towards a non-land.
The thunder blinds me.
I melt.
Awe.
Body is present.
A plan awaits.
My artwork underwent a profound evolution when I lost my sense of home. A geometric, minimal, abstract language helps me explore themes of intimacy, home, memory, and ancestry, enabling me to find a place of belonging.
The past, grounding myself in the present, and envisioning the creation of a new home, not only metaphorically, are fundamental aspects of my artistic research. However, I realise that home resides within myself, transcending physical spaces.
Performance, video and interviews are also part of this creative practice of self-discovery and collective understanding.
