About
I am a visual communication design explorer from China. I try to study some socially ignored and blurred phenomena such as minority groups, gender and institutions right here in China. Using visual language to awaken people’s atten- tion to some phenomena. And I want people to discover the hidden stories behind the beautiful phenomena.
When I came to study at the RCA, I have also been ex- ploring the overlooked issues in society. It is a sustainable research and I will continue to work for it in the future.

Statement

Sexual minorities in China have always been a marginalised and ambiguous part of society, and the government has always taken a "no support, no opposition, no advocacy" attitude. This has led to the sensitivity and marginalisation of the topic of sexual minorities.
In China, due to the influence of 'Confucianism', having a son to carry on his family name is an issue that everyone encounters, so being a sexual minority is actually cut off in this society. We will face double pressure and judgement from family and society. For this project I used three research directions based on data, history and interviews related to minority groups to complete the project. To give people a more comprehensive under- standing of sexual minorities.
