Hannah Brew

Hannah, originally from Liverpool, developed her mixed media practice when studying her BA at The University Of Central Lancashire graduating with a first class honours. She has always had a strong presence of care for others and their needs. This has often been reflected within her practice and is her driving force to create a better world through the art of design.

Her future aspirations are to create a brand that reflects the varying needs of others in a contemporary fun but functional way. Hannah envisions various possibilities for her work within the realm of fashion and accessories, recognising the potential it holds across a wide spectrum of outcomes.

Hannah's mixed media practice has evolved with the inspiration she draws from her sister, driving her work forward. Her goal is to craft accessory designs that possess a high aesthetic value, catering specifically to audiences with disabilities and neurodiverse backgrounds. Hannah firmly believes that inclusive design can be a cause for celebration, rather than limiting the aesthetic value.

She uses acrylic as her core material playing on its high contrast quality for visual impairment needs. She has taken enjoyment in adding sensory benefits with various embellishment techniques. The created range of charms hold different sensory qualities suited for a wide range of people.

Recently collaborating with the Royal College Of Art's Helen Hamlyn Centre, has given her the opportunity to further develop her practice within accessible design methods.
