Petri dishes and flasks with algae and a business card for Cyanoskin

Cyanoskin: the living paint fighting climate change.

We grow and then kill our crops, in order to utilise them. While plants are living, they absorb CO2, decreasing the environmental strain, and gift us by lowering stress levels, improving mental health, and increasing ability to fight disease. Emma’s practice is centred around designing practical living products with large-scale positive impact, that invites consumers into an unconventional experience with nature. This is exemplified by her development and presentation of Cyanoskin.

This novel innovation has been developed in collaboration with biologist Holly Souza-Newman and business mogul Antoinette Nothomb, with support from the esteemed Carbon 13, Barclays Eagle Labs and the Climate Entrepreneurs Club. This innovative creation has the power to absorb a staggering 36 million tonnes of CO2 annually when applied to medium to high-rise buildings in London. Emma's work not only captivates the eye but also serves as a catalyst for meaningful change, urging us to reimagine our relationship with the environment and embrace a greener future.
