Siblings are a paradoxical presence, serving as the starting point to perceive others, yet also existing as beings who fill not just the void of others but also their own deficiencies.

The term ‘sibling’ is derived from the Old English word ‘sib’, which means ‘relative’, and the German word 'sibja', encompassing the concepts of kinship and ‘one's own’. It refers to individuals who share a parent or possess a common bloodline, while ‘sister’ and ‘brother’ emphasise close association and a shared background.

Sibling relationships play a significant role in human interaction, forming the foundation of social engagement. As the first people we encounter in our families, siblings exert considerable influence on each other's lives, forging strong bonds and wielding substantial sway.

These relationships often entail elements of competition and alliance, cooperation and support can foster dependency, competition and feelings of inferiority. Such dynamics stem from the competition for limited resources or vying for parental attention and affection.

The intricate interplay of emotions within sibling relationships makes their accurate expression challenging. Love and competition, cooperation and negative emotions coexist, intertwining within these relationships. Cooperation can coexist with negative emotions, leading to conflict.

Through her creative practice, I aim to depict the intense amalgamation of contrasting emotions tightly intertwined within sibling relationships.

Taking inspiration from the composition of the French sixteenth-century painting 'Portrait of Gabrielle d'Estrées and One of Her Sisters', I expand and transforms the compositional forms to evolve in various directions and sizes, envisioning a final form that is distinct from the original.

To insist that there exists only one absolute truth for humanity is both ruthless tyranny and a biased approach in cyber-science.

Departing from the confinements of sibling relationships, this artistic endeavour aspires to transcend the boundaries of context and strive for a more all-encompassing and universally relatable representation of the human form.

By merging facial features in a serendipitous manner, it gives rise to elemental and streamlined geometric configurations that serve as visual narratives, symbolizing the profound and multidimensional aspects that compose the intricate tapestry of the human psyche.

'Face Face Face' aligns itself with the belief in the complexity and depth of human nature. Jungian psychology posits that individuals are not mere monoliths, but rather, they encompass a plethora of emotions, archetypes, and unconscious influences that shape their thoughts, behaviours, and relationships. This theory underscores the inherent multifaceted nature of humanity, emphasizing the richness and diversity within each individual..

Human experiences cannot be simplified or easily categorized into neat boxes. The human psyche is a tapestry interwoven with complexities, intricacies, and contradictions, defying reduction to simplistic or easily defined categories.

In light of this philosophical and empirical backdrop, 'Face Face Face' invites viewers on a contemplative journey, urging them to explore and appreciate the inherent complexity and nuanced nature that define the human experience. It serves as a visual manifestation of the intricate emotional and relational dynamics that permeate human existence, calling for a deeper understanding and engagement with the depths of our shared humanity.
