Chenlelan Zhong

Lelan is an embroidery and fashion designer from China and also a plant lover. She uses embroidery to record the plants she encounters in everyday life.

During her studies at the Royal College of Art, she has been researching the connection between plants and embroidery, reconstructing the relationship between materials and nature in different ways and perspectives.

Deeply nourished by plants, she hopes that her embroidery can also have the same healing power as plants, which can soothe and appease people's emotions in this anxious world.

A SUNSHINE AFTERNOON

The project is my exploration of the connection between humans and plants, aiming to explore the full potential of embroidery and materials to bring people the healing force of plants.

Inspired by the scene above, I turned the 19th-century romantic lady parasol into a 21st-century lady handbag with mixed use of traditional and modern materials and craftsmanship.
