Fashion (MA)

Ann

I am an interdisciplinary designer who likes to combine sculptural work with fashion (clothing). I hope that my wearable pieces can be used as a tool to communicate concepts and connect with the audience.

Undergoing the third stage of evolution, the body is about to transform from carbon-based life to silicon-based life .

The future of human existence seems to have come to a fork in the road and, perhaps, we will survive in an entirely new way, but then how much of our current physical attributes will still exist.

Of the three most discussed hypotheses of human origins, the one I am most interested in is the theory of extraterrestrial creation, and my whole project also postulates a new evolution shaped by the new genetically engineered creation of higher civilisations. The human body would undergo two changes, the combination of animal and human bodies, and the transformation of carbon-based life to silicon-based life.

The most crucial part of my work is that both material and form must act as vehicles for the concept. I wanted it to look like more than just a fashion object or sculpture. The ability to keep the audience interested in the interaction is what I think is most important.
