Dreamscapes always attract me with their mysterious and changeable nature, where reality intertwines and boundaries dissolve.

Kaleidoscopic Nocturne is the materialization and embodiment of my subconscious, a visual-tactile experience has been created and engaged with the essence of dreamscapes. The malleability of the sculpture mimics the fluidity and ephemeral quality of dreams, inviting a sense of intimacy and connection.

A picture of the artist

I'm happy to admit that making Kaleidoscopic Nocturne was the first time I've attempted a non-purposeful, non-meaningful, and non-logical perception methodology in my work.

The core of the stream of consciousness images lies in the transformation of shapes and the expansion of concepts - plants, textures, skins,... fragmented, disordered information has been transformed into geometric shapes through traditional folding methods, presenting subtle visual and psychological perceptions.

In terms of making methodologies, the primary method of these generating images - 'folding' - involves a deep process of self-interpretation. Folding all elements together triggers my memories of childhood handicrafts and construction arts, this emotional infusion endows the regular geometric images with a sense of encompassing warmth and certainty. Meanwhile, 'scanning' is absolutely direct, but can provide unexpected visual effects. I deeply appreciate the pleasant creative experiences they brought to me.
